Top 5 ways to prevent acne during summer

Well, summer is all about beaches and adventures, but it can be all about breakouts as well. In winter, we do face some skin issues such as dryness and roughness but summer gives us those harsh UV rays, sweat, rashes, tan, sunburns, and several heat bumps especially on the areas around mouth, forehead, neck, and back.
These tips will help you avoid those pesky pimples and keep your skin happy.

1 Cleanse your face:

Clean skin is essential to avoiding acne, so if you’ve somehow slacked off in facial cleansing before, now is the time to get yourself back on track. A lot of dirt, sweat, and oil get accumulated on your skin in summer and clogs the pores. The clogged pore swells up with bacteria growing within it. I know, gross. But the next time you feel too lazy to cleanse your skin, you know what to think about. Wash your face twice a day with a gentle cleanser. If you already have acne-prone skin, look for a cleanser with salicylic acid to treat pimples and avoid future breakouts.

2 Stay hydrated:

Drinking plenty of water benefits your body in many ways, and one, in particular, is healthy skin. While water is not the cure-all to your acne problems, a steady flow of H2O will help your fight against breakouts. Breakouts happen when your sweat and oil glands work more. However, if you are drinking water properly, then it will control the excess sebum and sweat secretion, thereby preventing breakouts.

3 Shower post workout:

Showering post workout is a must thing to do. It not only washes away bacteria and sweat, helping cleanse your skin, but it can cool you down so the sweating stops by the time you step out. If you are not able to take a shower as quickly as possible, then at least cleanse your face properly, and then, take a shower as early as possible.

4 Avoid direct sun exposure:

Apart from sucking the life and moisture out of your skin and causing sunburns, dryness, irritation; sun exposure can also increase the rate at which your skin cells die. And dead skin cells are a big no if you’re trying to avoid acne. So, if you are going to a beach or somewhere else for a summer get away, always carry a wide brimmed hat or a thin scarf. Use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 and SPF-enriched cosmetics is ideal.

5 Stop touching your face:

Hands collect bacteria and germs all day and touching your face spreads the bacteria, which puts you at risk of an infection. Popping pimples are very tempting but it can leave ugly scars that are hard to remove especially acne scars. Avoid using your hand to support your cheek while working or sleeping.
Keeping your skin clear can be arduous in the hot months, but with these simple tips handy, even a tough foe like summer can be faced up to with ease.
