Vivo has launched a new mobile handset in a Media Event in New Delhi. It falls under the ever friendly mid range market wherein it would compete with the likes of Xiaomi redmi note 4 and the newly launched Moto G5 plus.

Just like the Vivo V5 range of devices, this is also for selfie enthusiasts as it boasts of a 16 mp selfie shooter with a 'moonlight glow'  feature which induces a natural glow on the face without straining the eyes, lightening up the picture in varying lighting conditions.

On the specifications front, the phone has the following internals:

OS: Funtouch OS 3.0

Software Version: Android marshmallow

Display: 13.97cm (5.5-inch) HD (1280 x 720) IPS display with 2.5D curved glass

Processor:  Octa-core 64-bit processor

Internal Storage:  32GB; expandable up to
256GB with microSD card

Front Camera: 16MP with f2.0 aperture

Rear Camera: 13MP  with  f2.2 aperture

Battery: 3000mAh

Dimensions: 153.8 x 75.5 x 7.6mm

Weight: 155 grams

Color variants: Crown Gold and Matte Black

Price: ₹14,990 ($230)

Other than the usual features, the user gets 6 months of Saavn Pro subscription for free with the smartphone which is a welcome feature.

So to end things up, it would be pretty interesting to see how well this device stands up against the already established mid rangers which offer more or less similar specs (more in most of the cases, leave aside the front camera).
