Galaxy S6, S6 edge Nougat update finally rolls out, have you received it?

Samsung announced the android 7.0 nougat update for samsung s6 and s6 edge range of devices way back and users started to speculate its rollout back in january, then it got almost confirmed that the update would arrive in the last week of february.

The update, however, got delayed further to March and Samsung even had to officially confirm the delay.

Much to the surprise of everyone, however, the rollout has begun in various countries like

United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, and Turkey too.

No news has come so far about Indian markets but this is still an early stage in the rollout and it would take around 1-2 weeks for the update to spread throughout the globe

Well, a lot of the nougat features like split screen multitasking are already there in the samsung stock marshmallow rom too, so the new update won't bring much significant changes to be honest and practical, still there are a complete UI overhaul plus some battery improvements waiting for the users.

The notification toggles will get stock like appearance as seen in Galaxy s7 devices

Some key features which were received in the s7 which we can expect here too are:
  • App folders are now transparent.
  • Samsung Pass: you no longer have to remember passwords.
  • Device Maintenance: helps you optimize battery, performance, and security.
  • A Device Maintenance panel for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
  • New calendar interface.
  • Improved battery usage meter.
  • You can now sleep apps to save battery life.
  • Video Enhancer tool: improves audio and video quality.
